Engineering Geoscientist/Technologist:
From identifying geo-hazards in a rugged forest setting, to designing & building difficult resource roads & stream crossings, always with the environmental protection in mind, we are always thinking of new ways to perform difficult, technical tasks in an unforgiving environment.
You are someone who splits your time enjoying the outdoors and can apply yourself as a Professional when it comes time to communicating with clients and producing deliverables, be it terrain or environmental stability, hydrology, geo-hazards.
You are someone who splits your time enjoying the outdoors and can apply yourself as a Professional when it comes time to communicating with clients and producing deliverables. Whether its assessing geo-hazards for a forest development or hydrology for a municipal plan, you can perform a wide rangeof project management tasks, in accordance with regulatory requirements, all the while ensuring a safe workplace. You have excellent communication & writing skills. You can both mentor juniors & peers and receive guidance from fellow team members.
You have or are working towards a bachelor of applied science degree in a relevant science/engineering discipline, with 1-3 years recent related experience following professional registration; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Registration or eligibility for registration as a Registered Professional Engineer/Geoscientist with EGBC, Registered Professional Forester or Technologist with ABCFP with commensurate experience.
· Ability to interpret and apply geoscience/engineering and technical guidelines and principles related to area of specialization.
· Ability to supervise, coach and guide others while enhancing individual and team effectiveness.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain respectful working relationships with internal and external contacts under circumstances that are considerably complex and time sensitive.
· Skill in dealing openly, tactfully and sensitively in a variety of situations including team oriented work, dealings with the public, member municipalities, government agencies and contractors.
· Proficiency using Microsoft Word & Excel, CAD and remote data management.
· Valid BC class 5 driver’s license & emergency first aid.
